I have a BS in mathematical theory from the U of A in Fayetteville. I worked in a family business for 14 years before I started teaching in 2002. I really enjoy teaching mathematics and especially Geometry.
My main goal is to get students to think about whatever problem has been presented to them in order to find a way to approach it with the skills they already have.
I teach with an inquiry based approach. I have had extensive training in inquiry based learning. I have completed the Mathematics Master Teacher program through College Ready and have been trained by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) for the Mathematics Design Collaborative. I have trained other teachers in inquiry based teaching and was a speaker at SREB's national conference in July of 2012.
